Big weekend ahead at clubgowi, there were seven preview in today's newsletter, plus two from LGF and the email ran to some 6,400 words and there was a lot of really good content .

That was the first of six emails scheduled for this weekend, two on Saturday, three for Sunday and I suspect we will have a record number of previews over these three days, PLUS the extra ten (in total) from LGF.

Ahead of Group Matchday 1 I wrote ........

This competition was formerly known as the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, but is much changed, 16 Category 1 Academy sides have joined the 48 teams from League 1 and 2 and there is now a group stage to get through before knockout football arrives in the last 32. We have 16 four team groups, with teams facing each other once, top two progress to the knockout stage.
